Marc S. Gaffrey to Serve as Panelist at First Annual Diversity Summit: Creating a Diverse Workplace
Hoagland Longo Partner Marc S. Gaffrey will join a panel of distinguished practitioners at the First Virtual Diversity Summit: A Lunch n’ Learn Two Part Series, hosted by the MCBA Board for the Advancement of Racial Equity and Social Justice (BARESJ). Marc will participate in Part 1, “Creating A Diverse Workplace: Recognizing What’s Missing in Your Law Practice and Creating a Plan to Fix It” on February 16 to discuss issues in the diversity space, including tips for larger firms for developing a more diverse workplace, tips and benefits for diversifying recruiting and hiring practices, the profitability of investing in diverse attorneys, and more. Marc serves as Second Vice President of the Middlesex County Bar Association and has been a member of its Board of Trustees since 2016. He is also Co-Chair of MCBA Environmental Law Committee.
Part 2 of the virtual series, “Minimizing Bias in Jury Trials: Identifying Juror Bias, Attorney Bias & Judicial Bias” on February 17 will explore bias in jury trials and the role of challenges to empanel impartial juries.
The MCBA BARESJ was created in 2020 to foster a community and justice system within Middlesex County that is equitable in its treatment of all citizens by confronting issues of systemic racism, bias and discrimination and building allyship with communities of color.
