Lawrence Powers to Speak at NJSPE Continuing Education on Professional Engineering Ethics

Lawrence Powers, Partner and Co-Chair of the firm's Construction Litigation Department, will be speaking at the NJSPE Continuing Education event on Monday, April 18.  Lawrence’s session is from 8:30-10:30 AM and is titled, “Professional Engineering Ethics 101”.

The learning objective will be to expose the seminar participants to various engineering related professional and statutory codes of ethics in order to indoctrinate ethics awareness and an understanding of ethical standards common to all jurisdictions, including those of the participants, so they understand the boundaries of ethical engineering behavior.

The program is broken into three parts:

  • Introduction to common statutory and regulatory ethics rules.
  • Review of the National Society of Professional Engineers Code of Ethics.  (This will include examples of common ethics rules and illustrative case studies to consider.)
  • Practical reasons for ethical practice; How unethical practice can present professional liability, legal, licensure and moral issues

The NJSPE Continuing Education sessions on April 18th will be held at the Cherry Hill Crown Plaza in Cherry Hill, NJ.

6 PDH credits are offered for professional engineers.
