Andrea C. Mackaronis to Present Collaborative Divorce Training
Andrea C. Mackaronis, a partner in the firm's Family Law department and President of the NJ Council of Collaborative Practice Groups (NJCCPG), will co-present the "Basic Interdisciplinary Collaborative Divorce Training" with New Jersey’s leading Collaborative Practitioners.
Hosted by the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education in partnership with NJCCPG, the three-day training will focus on the foundation and skills necessary to understand and practice collaborative family law in order to help divorcing or separating couples (and their children) find a peaceful and durable resolution without costly and time-consuming litigation. Unlike litigation, collaborative law allows the parties to go through the divorce process on their own schedule, while affording them the control and the ability to craft creative solutions to resolve any open issues with beneficial assistance from mental health and financial professionals.
For over a decade, Andrea has devoted her legal practice to family law and all relevant issues, including divorce, child custody, child support, alimony, equitable distribution, prenuptial agreements, and related litigation. She is also skilled in all forms of alternative dispute resolution, including mediation, arbitration, and collaborative law. In addition to her role as NJCCPG President, Andrea serves as President of the Mid-Jersey Collaborative Law Alliance (MJCLA), as Past Chair of the Board of Coordinated Family Care, and as an Early Settlement Panelist in Middlesex County. She is also appointed by the Court and chosen by colleagues to mediate family law matters and to serve as a parenting coordinator.
The "Basic Interdisciplinary Collaborative Divorce Training" program has been approved by the Board on Continuing Legal Education of the Supreme Court of New Jersey for 18.5 hours of total CLE credit (Full Credits Available: NJ Ethics: 1.6, NJ General: 18.5).
