Frank Caruso Wins Trial in Cumberland County
Frank J. Caruso, a Partner at the firm, received a no cause verdict on behalf his clients in the matter of Thayer v. Glenn in Cumberland County Superior Court. The plaintiff was a police officer pursuing a burglary suspect on foot. The suspect had run onto the defendants', our clients', property in an attempt to evade capture during early morning hours. The plaintiff police officer tripped on a tree stump behind a detached garage and sustained a career ending injury. Frank successfully convinced the jury that the clients did not breach a duty of care owed to the plaintiff on the grounds that no reasonable property owner could anticipate such an event taking place on their property during the early morning hours.
