Gatien is an associate in the firm’s Transactional Department, where he focuses his practice on commercial real estate, corporate law, and municipal government. With a strong background in both public and private sectors, Gatien brings a unique approach to his clients’ legal needs.
Prior to joining the firm, Gatien served as a Legal Specialist at the New Jersey Department of Banking and Insurance, where he managed compliance with the Open Public Records Act (OPRA) and acted as the Ethics Liaison Officer. In this role, he ensured regulatory adherence and ethical compliance within the department.
Gatien also gained valuable judicial experience as a law clerk for the Hon. James P. McClain at the Atlantic County Courthouse, where he conducted extensive legal research and assisted in drafting judicial opinions. His prior experience includes internships with the Hon. Monique Roberts-Draper at the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and at the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), where he focused on labor law and unfair labor practice claims.
Gatien earned his J.D. from Rutgers Law School, where he excelled academically and was awarded the Mendlovitz Family Prize for Distinguished Work in Law and Humanities. During law school, he also served as a Research Assistant and actively participated in various student organizations. He holds a B.A. in Philosophy from Florida Atlantic University and is admitted to practice law in New Jersey.
